Howardmania

It has come to my attention, due to numerous comments on the internet, that people are against the increasing popularity of Ben Howard and his music. As an avid Ben Howard fan, I’ll tell you why I disagree.

First and foremost, Ben deserves nothing but success with his music, he clearly works hard at what he does, his lyrics are beautifully sculptured and have the feel of poetry asĀ opposedĀ to the ‘Pop’ that dominates the radio today. Why should he not reap his reward?

Then there is also the fact that I see no harm in regular air play of his music. I for one listen to his music almost non-stop when I get the chance, and every time he has sprung up on the radio, I have been nothing but delighted - even more Howard, what could be better!?

Quite frankly, the fact that more and more people are listening to his music, gives me a little faith in humanity, lets face it, his music isn’t to every ones taste, I can understand that. But the fact people are taking the time to turn off Lady whatsherface and Nikki Minaj, means that they clearly have fully functioning ears. Good stuff! There’s also the small fact, quite simply, of who damn well cares. So what if other people are listening to ‘your artist’ I’ve been listening to the guy for years now, I’m not complaining? He will have more backing to make more brilliant music in the future. And, whilst some might worry that his style may be altered by his new found fame, I think we can all rest assured that the Ben we know and love has his heart set just where he wants it, and thats with making incredible music, for everyone to enjoy.

Peace.
